About Hario 


Hario was founded in 1921 in Japan. Back then, the company was focused in making and selling glass products for laboratory use. It made laboratory dishes, beakers, flasks, and coolers. The glass products required for the laboratory setting has to be precise and durable and so the company had to come up with its own glass manufacturing process.


When World War Two ended, Hario started to produce household glass products as well. The first household glassware that it produced is the coffee syphon, which was well-received and became a standard coffee gear for a lot of people. Today, the company makes other household products that are not made from glass while still following the strict standards that has allowed it to become a trusted brand.


One of the main reasons why Hario is such a trusted brand among drip coffee lovers is because of the unique glass material used in the brand’s coffee makers. The company makes its own heat resistant glass.


The name Hario is derived from the Japanese term for “King of Glass” and that is just one proof of how dedicated the company is to using the best glass material in its products. The company uses 100% natural minerals in refining the glass it uses on its products. Hario has even developed its own direct current melting furnace which it uses in making its products.


The quality of the materials that it uses in its coffee products ensure that drinks made using Hario glassware are of the highest quality.
